So I came up with the idea I wanted to install a Web File Sharing server. Read a lot of articles, some referenced FTP servers, some referenced Web Servers, but I only found one piece of software that did exactly what I wanted it to do. I wanted a web base, customizable front end, file sharing server that didn't require anybody I wanted to share files with learn anything about FTP, or install an FTP client.Took me a file to find one, and it came in a nice, self-installing package that ran a listening service instead of running MySQL, PHP, Apache and all the other fun stuff a normal web server requires. |

Small Biz Techno Geek was founded with the idea in mind that Small Businesses really don't have that much for options when dealing with their network or computer problem. Most of the companies out there that SAY they do small business, are corporation geared and keep trying to make it with the bigwigs, so are not really geared for Small Businesses. They say they have Small Business rates, but they aren't looking to the Small Business needs, That is ALL we do. I have no dreams about someday kicking it with the Big Wigs. All we do is Small Businesses, that is all we will ever do. No corporate contracts, no schmoozing with the big guys. My goal is to provide affordable, competent services to small businesses that don't have the money to pay the big guys, but need professional assistance with their computers or networks. We will even teach you how to keep the problem from happening as often. How many tech's do that? They walk in, fix your problem, hand you a bill, and walk out. When we complete the project, we will tell you exactly what went wrong, and how to try to prevent it from happening again, before we hand you our bill. WE DON'T CHARGE BY THE HOUR! That's right, we charge by the job*. If you hire us to setup a server, depending on the task you want it to perform, we will give you a set fee. That way, if something goes wrong and we have to spend extra time on it, you don't have to worry about extra fees coming into place. Besides, most installs you have to sit there and wait for the Operating System to install all it's little tools and applications. If we were charging by the hour, you look in on us, see us standing around twiddling our thumbs waiting on the OS to do it's thing, and your going to think you been jipped. We have developed our expertise on smaller networks, and love working with small office setups with 2-10 computers. We've worked on networks with as many as 10,000 computers, but no matter how small your network, we can help you keep it running right. Our experience with non-networked computers is vast as well, including all aspects of making the thing do what it is supposed to instead of wasting your time. Help me help you, and contact us today!
History: I am going to give you a bit of background on Small Biz Techno Geek, but to do that I have to backpedal a ways. My mother has been a small business owner since I was 12. She ran a Computer Repair and Assembly business called Adventure Tech out of the tiny town of Medicine Bow, Wyoming. I had the opportunity to work for her on a professional basis building computers and answering her clients requests to fix their computers. I had been toying with the idea of having my own business for about the past 4 years, tinkering here and there, but never really getting the motivation. Mom had nudged me a little here and there to try to figure some things out, but I had a job so why would I want to start over in the world of the unknown? Recently, about two months before I left my last job, she started building a site for me, even came up with the business name. I didn't know what she was doing until she asked me to find a website template I liked. I figured she was going into one of her nudges again so I humored her, we settled on a final and then I didn't hear anything about it for about a month. Two weeks before I left my job she came at me with what is now Small Biz Techno Geeks' website. WOW! It hadn't been any of the previous sites, but she said she had came across this template, bought it, and you can't imagine how well it worked out. I had planned on working on it on the side, while I worked at whatever new job I found. Then Mom gave me a push to get things rolling and start this (it wasn't really a push so much as took a few steps back, and gave me a running shove). I started filling out content and trying to figure out the logistics, Logo, Slogan, things like that. Mother was saying I probably should keep up with the lightning theme and that's when it hit her (not literally of course), she started laughing and saying "Oh" all over again in a way I knew she had come up with something funny. She told me "Sean, Shockingly Good Service". I told her that sounded really good, and then the Slogan was born. I used my minimal artistic talent and came up with what is now the Logo for Small Business Techno Geek. I guess you could say I am the tech savvy brains behind the actual job for Small Biz Techno Geek, but my mother is the genius behind it's creation. Mom- Thanks for being stubborn enough to push my stubborn self into this! *One Price guarantee does NOT include the price of any hardware that might have failed that needs to be replaced. We WILL NOT bill you for part + profit. We will tell you how much the part is going to cost us, then how much us installing it will be (same One Price, not per hour), that is it, period. |
